Radiation crosslinking has long been used in the production of injection moulded parts. Radiation crosslinking of films, on the other hand, offers previously untapped potential for new appplications in the thermoforming of filled materials.

Research results at the Chair of Plastics Technology in Erlangen, Germany,  in collaboration with BGS show, among other things, that the forming window of filled films can be extended by up to 15 percent by volume using radiation crosslinking.
