BGS Beta-Gamma-Service GmbH & Co KG – BGS for short – is one of the pioneers in the industrial application of beta (E-Beam) and gamma radiation. We use ionizing radiation in our systems to ensure that harmful microorganisms on sensitive products are destroyed quickly, reliably and in an environmentally friendly manner. Since our foundation in 1981, we have been the preferred partner for all industries in which sterility is essential, such as medical technology, the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology.

We take responsibility for the complex process of sterilization with radiation and ensure product safety in the final manufacturing step: from packaging and consumables to highly sensitive medical devices such as endoprostheses or implants.

We at BGS have been specializing in the refinement of plastics for just as long. By treating them with high-energy electron or gamma radiation, we improve the material properties of inexpensive standard polymers. This makes them permanently more resistant to heat, wear and chemicals and enables them to replace much more expensive high-performance plastics. With radiation crosslinking, we are helping to advance lightweight construction in mobility and conserve the earth’s resources. This is because radiation-crosslinked plastics can replace rare and expensive raw materials in numerous applications.
